Namibian President Hage Geingob left for Botswana this morning for a State visit on the invitation of his Botswana counterpart, President Khama Ian Khama.

The Office of the President has confirmed the visit in statement saying during his stay in Botswana the Namibian Head of State will hold private talks with Khama, and address the Botswana Parliament. “The visit is expected to be an opportunity for further strengthening existing relations between Namibia and Botswana, to monitor implementation of existing programmes between the two countries, as well as to explore possible new areas of cooperation. As such the two countries will discuss bilateral cooperation and some bilateral agreements will be signed,” reads the statement.

A Namibian-Botswana Business Seminar has been scheduled for tomorrow  parallel to the State visit. A delegation of ministers and senior government officials is accompanying Geingob on  the State visit which ends tomorrow.
