Windhoek
Swakopmund Fistball Club (SFC) will host the first matches of the popular Bank Windhoek National Fistball league this weekend.
An exciting season lies ahead in the A and B categories. In the national A-league, three teams will compete for the coveted title. Cohen will once again have two teams, while SKW will only pitch one team.
Fistball fans can look forward to a thrilling match between the league title-holder SKW 1 and the freshly crowned opening tournament victors Cohen Fistball Club (CFC) 1. Both teams showed excellent performances at their last final clash in February which they want to build on.
Five teams led by of DTS, SFC, SKW and CFC (2x) will be participating in this year’s national B-league. This season will be a challenging one for the defending champion Cohen 3, as they had to settle for 2nd place at the opening tournament.
With the support of spiker Michael Baas SKW 2 will provide great opposition to their blue rivals.
CFC 4 will definitely want to build on last year’s performance as they surprisingly managed to qualify for the final and only lost to their club colleagues CFC 3.
However, with strong competition, this will be rather tough as SFC will be reinforced by players from their team that withdrew from the A league.
