The police in Otjimbingwe are currently investigating the death of an 11-month-old baby who died on Friday. 

According to the police, the little girl from Okaruze became ill the previous day.

 A similar case occurred on Friday when one-year-old Joseph Ugo died in his sleep at Farm Juliana in the Grootfontein district. 

It is reported that the toddler had a health condition.

The police in Henties Bay are also investigating the death of 67-year-old Mathew Cochrane, who passed away at home on Friday. 

It is alleged that he went out for exercise, walked approximately 11.7 kilometres, and then sat on the sofa to rest, where he passed away. 

Paramedics declared him dead.

In Swakopmund, the police are investigating the drowning incident of 37-year-old Eddie Geiseb.

Geiseb and two friends were swimming at Independence Beach in Walvis Bay on Saturday when the incident occurred. 

The search for his body continued Sunday.

 At Eiseb Block, Vezemba Simmy Nguvauva (38) died on Friday in a suspected suicide. 

It is alleged that he died upon arrival at the clinic after consuming a harmful substance. 

A suicide note was found in his pocket, according to the police. In Mondesa, Swakopmund, the police are investigating a rape case that occurred in 2023. 

The victim, an 11-year-old girl, was allegedly raped on two separate occasions by her neighbour, who is the suspect. 

No arrest has been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

 A housebreaking incident was reported in Klein Windhoek on Saturday. 

Unknown suspects broke into business premises and stole a Lenovo laptop, HP Notebook, Canon EOS camera and earphones – all valued at N$29 500.

 Another housebreaking case was reported in Omakange on Friday. 

A 35-year-old male suspect was arrested for breaking into a house and stealing properties, valued at N$1 620. 

Some items were recovered, and he is expected to appear in court on Monday.

 In the Gochas district, a 30-year-old male suspect was arrested on Friday for stock theft.  He allegedly slaughtered four sheep, worth N$8 000, at Jakkalspan farm without the owner’s consent. 

The police have recovered a half carcass, three sheep heads, intestines and the skin of the animals.

Another stock theft case was reported at Otjibuku farm in the Hochfeld district. Suspects slaughtered five cows, valued at N$75 000, on Friday, it is alleged.  They loaded the meat into a vehicle.  No recovery or arrests have been made, and the police investigation continues. 

Meanwhile, an intelligence-led operation on Friday led to the discovery of suspected stolen drought relief food at Farm Leeupos in Guinas, worth approximately N$100 000. The police at Oshivelo reported that no arrests have been made, and they are currently investigating the case of stealing State property.
