Windhoek East constituency equips schools

David Adetona

The Windhoek East constituency office, through the Khomas Regional Council, last week donated various items, valued at around N$300 000, to two schools.

The items include 10 computers, 60 blankets, 78 uniforms, 39 shoes, 39 sockets, 11 bags and 39 ties. The Centaurus High School received the computers, which will help to further facilitate access and use of technology and encourage digital literacy skills among learners and teachers.

As part of an effort to enhance the quality of education, the less privileged or vulnerable learners at the Suiderhof Primary School were assisted with items such as school bags, clothing and footwear to improve the learning atmosphere.

Brian Black, councillor of Windhoek East constituency office at the Khomas Regional Council, said the donation to the schools is a token of goodwill that will enhance the quality of the learning process among the learners.

The principal of Centaurus High School, Reinardine Kamehozu, thanked the constituency office for the donation.

On her part, the principal of Suiderhof Primary School, Alna Similo, said learners were in need of the donated items, and it was a welcome development that will improve learning.
