Paratus continues to power Cycle Classic

On 12 June, Paratus Namibia announced a sponsorship of N$260 000 for the Paratus Namibian Cycle Classic.

This marks the third consecutive year of Paratus’ support for the event, organised by Rotary Club Windhoek (RCW).

Scheduled to take place from 5 October (Saturday) to 6 October (Sunday), this year’s event promises another round of competitive cycling and family-oriented fun.

Saturday’s activities will include mountain bike races for beginners, intermediate and advanced cyclists, as well as a kiddies’ classic for toddlers and young children.

Sunday’s events will feature road bike races.

Recognised as one of Namibia’s premier outdoor recreational events, the Cycle Classic is a community service and fundraising initiative by the RCW.

Proceeds from sponsorships and participant entry fees are allocated to various community projects and charitable causes across Namibia.

Last year, funds were donated to initiatives and infrastructure projects in the Khomas and Kavango regions, including a garden project in the south, and the construction of boys’ and girls’ toilets at a school hostel.

Participants in the classic can look forward to individual timing, finisher medals, leaderboards and prizes.

All cycling races will start and end at the Doc Jubber Sportsground in Olympia, ensuring a central and accessible location for all participants and spectators.

“We are especially proud to support the Cycle Classic for the third consecutive year because it successfully combines sport with philanthropy,” said Andrew Hall, managing director of Paratus Namibia.

“This event is a beacon of sport and fitness, and contributes significantly to social upliftment in Namibia. By partnering with the Rotary Club Windhoek, we aim to increase the positive impacts within the local community, and encourage everyone to participate in this exciting event,” he added.
