Tjombonde takes over the helm of NIP

The Board of Directors of Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited (NIP) has appointed Laura Kapenaurue Tjombonde as the new CEO of the Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited (NIP) for a term of five years, effective from 1 February 2021.
Tjombonde is currently employed at the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) as the Executive: Business Registration Services. She has over seven years of experience at executive management level, including the chief corporate affairs role at the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund. She currently serves as a member of the Council of the University of Namibia.

Through her involvements in various leadership roles, she has gained insight and skills in strategic leadership, business, corporate governance, finance and stakeholders engagement, which will enable her to lead NIP.
Tjombonde holds a Master’s degree in Business and Law from the Bucerius Law School, Germany, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of South Africa, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Company Direction from the Graduate Institute of Management and Technology, South Africa, and a Diploma in Nursing Science from the University of Namibia.
NIP board, management and staff have pledged full support for Tjombonde to transform NIP into a sustainable enterprise and a pathology service provider of choice.  The board of directors also thanked Dr David Uirab, who was seconded by the health ministry to act as NIP’s CEO since September 2019.

“Dr Uirab has led the NIP team with dedication in confronting numerous challenges, including those experienced following the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic this year. We wish him all the best as he returns to his position at MOHSS,” read a statement from NIP Board Chairperson Bryan
Eiseb.
