Nedbank Good Series’ round five concludes

The Nedbank for Good Series’ round five concluded with a successful golf day in the southern town of Mariental. 

The event took place on Saturday, 22 July 2023, at the Mariental Golf Club and saw an impressive turnout of 38 enthusiastic golf players. 

In the men’s division, defending champion Kiewiet Dreyer became the first player to defend his title after carding 43 points, while Frans Isaacks was second on 37 points, and third place was occupied by Anton Smit on 34 points. 

In the ladies’ division, Celonika Robinson, who has played in all five rounds this year, emerged as the winner. 

This year is the first time the series has had a ladies division, which is aimed at growing the sport for women. 

Organiser of the Nedbank for Good Series, Dan Zwiebel paid tribute to the participants and sponsors saying: “We are thrilled to witness such an incredible turnout for the Nedbank for Good Series. The unwavering support from the golfing community demonstrates the collective commitment towards creating a positive impact in our society,” he said. 

Nedbank communication and public relations manager, Selma Kaulinge thanked the teams which made sure this event was a success. 

“The Nedbank for Good Series aims to combine Nedbank Namibia’s passion for golf with our dedication to making a difference in the lives of those in need within the Namibian community. We are proud of the immense support we received from the players, co-sponsors, and the Mariental Golf Club. Let us meet again next year,” Kaulinge said.

The next round of the Nedbank for Good Series will take place on 5 August at Oshakati Golf Club, followed by Walvis Bay Golf Club on 19 August, Rossmund Golf Course on 26 August, Henties Bay Golf & Lifestyle Estate on 2 September, Windhoek Golf & Country Club on 23 September, and closing off the year with the final at Omeya Golf Club on 6 October.
