WINDHOEK-The much anticipated and first of its kind northern music awards, 065 Annual Music Awards (065 AMA) is tonight at the Oshikango Country Lounge.
One of the event’s organisors, Success da Silva, says up to 220 upcoming artists have registered and only 46 will be nominated for the final awards schedule to take place on December 27. The 065 AMA are in 14 categories and artists or groups of 5 to 8 will be nominated per category. “The nomination party of the artists will be done by the chosen committees and only [qualifying] artists or groups will be nominated. However, all the artists/groups that have registered are invited to attend this event. If the artist is nominated and [does] not show up at the party, then he or she will disqualified,” says da Silva. He adds that artists must prepare their own transport and accommodation.
“All the artists must as well confirm their arrival at the venue at one O’clock (13h00) as well,” adds da Silva. Artists performing at the nomination party include Fresh Family, Dirty Fruits, Sedjo, Young Kasi, Ama Dance Floor, Yashe tati pii, J Kambo, D-square, Saara, Gallo 7, Jomo and Donald. Exit and Shiki Kapia are the special guests artists.

Tickets for the event are N$ 20.00 before five O’clock (17h00) and N$ 30 after this hour. The Doors open at Seven O’clock (19H00)
