Africa Motto’s NPL promotion not yet finalised …Rukoro clears confusion

WINDHOEK – Contrary to reports that Oshakati’s Africa Motto Football Club has gained promotion to the Namibia Premier League (NPL) at the expense of overall winners Military School (MS) Okahandja Football Club, NFA secretary-general Barry Rukoro late yesterday shot down such reports and said the issue is still enjoying the attention of his office and a final decision will be communicated in due course.

Congresses to spotlight agricultural sector

WINDHOEK - The Livestock Producers Organisation’s congress on October 9, the Namibian Agricultural Union’s congress on October 11 will both look at pushing growth in the agricultural sector telling by their common theme: Ignite growth in agriculture – the basis for job creation and value addition.

Increase in number of food insecure anticipated

WINDHOEK - Namibia’s total maize harvest intake has been completed and although an above average total cereal harvest is expected, a small increase which would primarily reflect the impact of poor rains this season, notably in the northwest, west and southern regions.

NSA’s land statistics prepare stakeholders for upcoming Land Conference

WINDHOEK  – The absence of a centralised database for Namibia’s land statistics is making it extremely difficult for government to make informed decisions on the contentious land issue. This is according to the Chairman of the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA), Dr John Steytler, who noted during the NSA’s Land Symposium last week that the agency’s recent Land Statistics booklet will provide facts and figures for fruitful engagement on land issues.
