WINDHOEK - An overarching theme at yesterday’s Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat briefing on infrastructure and services, which included an overview of regional renewable energy ventures, was the stagnation of crucial projects in the region, most of which require additional and alternative sources of funding.

WINDHOEK - There is urgent need to improve access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) services in Southern Africa, as far too many people continue to live without access to these basic facilities.

WINDHOEK - Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila says the response to non-communicable diseases calls for development and implementation of policies and laws that address the risk factors.
It also calls for strengthening of the health system to be able to offer patient-centered services across the spectrum of prevention, early detection, treatment and palliative care, added the Prime Minister.

WINDHOEK - The Director of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources at the SADC Secretariat Domingos Gove said the food security situation in the region is good, but situations of food insecurity may occur in more vulnerable communities such as DRC, Lesotho, south Malawi, south and central Mozambique, Namibia, south Zambia and Zimbabwe.
