Mission to mend broken hearts… up close and personal with

One of the toughest aspects to deal with, as a practising heart surgeon, is the emotional and psychological toll experienced when a patient dies. This is according to Namibia’s first black heart surgeon, Dr Jones Nghaamwa, who says even as a professional he has not yet learnt how to deal with the devastation and anguish of the grieving process.

Job Shipululo Amupanda 
Amupanda is a young social activist and a senior lecturer at the University of Namibia. He is the co-founder and leader of the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement. The movement mobilised thousands of young people, who turned up at the City of Windhoek's head office in Windhoek and submitted over 14 000 land application forms.

Private VTC sets pace in nurturing technical skills

John Fernando says he doesn't regret establishing a private vocational training centre (VTC) as it gives him pleasure in moulding youth to become handy in their lives and put food on the table for their families, this in a 'rough' time of high unemployment when many young people are seeking opportunities to gain skills to make a living.
