The All People’s Party (APP) secretary general Vinsent Kanyetu says despite being given a court order, they are still awaiting for a direction from the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to grant their party access to the alleged spoilt ballots they want to present to the High Court next week.

The hearing in which government and President Hage Geingob are asking the High Court for leave to appeal the Supreme Court decision to dismiss the exception application in a case in which the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement is suing the authorities for failing to service and deliver 200 000 plots in urban areas countrywide, is set for August.

Winter holiday extended 

Learning and teaching continues to be interrupted by rising Covid-19 cases countrywide. The education ministry announced that pre-primary to grade 9 learners, currently on a winter holiday, will only resume face-to-face learning on 4 August 2021. These learners were initially given a winter holiday until 26 July 2021.
