Over 580 480 hectares have been burnt as the country continues to witness some devastating fires threatening lives, property, a degradation of the natural environment as well as the destruction of crops, livestock and game across Namibia.

2021 Sports Expo launched

​​​​​​​The 2021 edition of the Namibia Annual Sports Expo (NASE) was officially launched at the Windhoek Gymnasium in the capital yesterday, with organising announcing that this year’s second edition of the expo will be hosted virtually on all digital platforms. The 2021 expo will take place from the 20th until end of this month.

​​​​​​​Namibia's Tokyo Paralympics silver medallists Ananias Shikongo, who won silver in the men’s T11 400m, and Johannes Nambala, who scooped bronze the men’s T13 400m, were yesterday accorded a well-deserved rousing welcome at the Hosea Kutako International Airport following their return home from Tokyo, Japan.
