WINDHOEK – November 28, the day when Namibians will vote in the Presidential and National Assembly elections, has been declared a public holiday.
On that day, Namibians go to the polls in Presidential and National Assembly elections in terms of the Electoral Act No. 5 of 2014.
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology announced in a media statement yesterday that President Hifikepunye Pohamba has declared the day a public holiday under the Public Holiday Act, Act No. 26 of 1990.
The ministry of information stated that 14 November, which is the day when sea-going personnel vote in the same elections, is not a public holiday.
Contrary to earlier media reports, voters registered at Namibia’s foreign missions will also cast their votes at designated polling stations outside the country on Friday.
