WINDHOEK Winners of the Best Male and Female Artists of the Year as well as the winner of the Best Album of the Year category in next year’s Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) will take part in the TribeOne Dinokeng Festival in Tshwane in South Africa.

NAMAs Executive, Tim Ekandjo has announced in a media release.  The fesrtival has been launched recently and Ekandjo says it will give Namibian artists “the unprecedented Pan African and International exposure”. The TribeOne Festival will the first of its kind on the African continent and will be the “African continent’s debut on the global music-festival boasting a unique multi-day (three days), multi-stage musical extravaganza yet to be experienced on African soil,” albeit the release from Ekandjo.

The inaugural TribeOne Dinokeng Music Festival will take place on September 26,27 and 28 in 2014 during South Africa’s heritage month and will be the centrepiece of multiple celebrations and initiatives that Tshwane has set in motion to celebrate South Africa’s Heritage. It is a three-day music festival that will boast an electrifying mix of music genres across three main stages with over 150 artists performing live on the “Thunder Valley” and “Diamond Fields” stages and DJs playing live sets in multiple “Dance Village” domes. In addition to the main stages, there will be more than 50 officials staged busking points per day for emerging and unsigned talent, creating a platform for up to 150 unsigned artists. The festival aims to attract more than a hundred thousand music enthusiasts from around the globe.
