ALL good things come to those who wait – as the saying goes. And for Desiree Williams her wait for her bright red Audi A3 Sportback TFSi couldn’t have come a moment too soon when after holding her breath for three months, in rolled this beauty just two days before her birthday.
Call it an early Xmas present, a dream come true, or a car of a lifetime, for Desiree, she calls it the “love of her life”, and is the only girl in town to be seen behind the wheel of the first model of its kind in Namibia. In short she is the envy of every girl and guy she zoots past.
Being a woman who enjoys the car thing, like drag racing, fast bikes, and the latest models, she also has an eye for a ‘good body’ and a super hot performance – which is why the 1.8 Audi A3 matches her personality to a T.
Apart from its striking design, luxurious specification levels, it also has enough power under the hood to blow your hair back, even when you are taking a slow cruise down Independence Avenue. You’ll also spot it anywhere with the personalised license plate ‘Lady DB’.
The Audi A3 Sportback comes with a strong, efficient engine, and it strikes an excellent balance between comfort and control on SE suspension, making it a must have for the open road. The cabin is beautifully built, with plenty of space for four, packed with all the mod cons and a useful sized boot if you are planning a little getaway.
Since Desiree’s A3 doesn’t double up as a mom’s taxi or anything like that, the A3 it is compact enough and sporty enough to add a whole lot of pizzaz to a girl’s life when the word style is something that is more than a pair of high heel shoes and low cut dress.
The latest Audi A3 Sportback 1.8, a five door hatchback for want of a better description, took its place as one of the semi-finalists in the 2013 COTY (Car of the Year), impressing the judges. The all new 1.8 TFSI with 132kW @ 250Nm, shoots to 100km/h in 7.3sec with a top speed 232km/h.
Since the arrival of Desiree’s new A3 two weeks ago, she says she has never enjoyed a car as much as this one. “It is elegant yet sporty, which suits my personality and everything I stand for,” she gushed.
“I can’t wait to take it down to Cape Town over the holidays, but a short spin to Okahandja last week, proved to me that she is safe, powerful, comfortable and everything a girl behind the steering wheel would want to exude confidence in her driving partner.”
Pointing out why she chose the colour red, she said that it is the perfect red adding to one of the many reasons why this A3 stands out in any crowd.
