WINDHOEK – Three fatal accidents were reported over the weekend in which two cyclists and one pedestrian were killed.
In the first incident on Friday evening two cyclists were hit by a pick-up truck driven by an Angolan national. It is alleged that the two Namibian males were riding their bicycles in the Oshikango main road when they were hit by the vehicle.
One of the victims was killed instantly while the other died in the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital on Saturday.
Their names were not released as their next of kin were not informed yet.
A woman was also killed on the main road between Kalkrand and Rehoboth on Saturday night at about 10 o‘clock after being struck by a pick-up as well.
According to information the woman who was not identified was walking along the road when she was hit and died instantly.
It was also reported that 56-year-old Jonas Hamhola was hit by a vehicle in the Omakangha main road on Thursday evening while he was walking next to the road between Okongo and Eenhana.
He died on the spot and his next of kin was informed.
