WINDHOEK-Miss Youth Namibia 2013, Dorcas Deizzy Mbevo, who recently represented the country at Miss Global International in Jamaica last month, is hitting another international pageant, Miss Commonwealth in London.
The pageant kicked off yesterday with beauty contestants from the world over expected to battle for the title on stage. The crowning of the main title takes place tomorrow. Miss Commonwealth is a unique and innovative cultural and charity brand of international beauty pageants with a focus on improving communities quality of life. The empowerment of women is a main focus. Miss Commonwealth is globally renowned for its reputation for empowering eligible commonwealth ladies of all age groups, as cultural and charity queens and ambassadors.
The pageant’s principal aims and objectives are to promote increased quality life through the promotion of cultural awareness. Miss Commonwealth International crowns eight principal queens and two kings at each of its annual international beauty contests.
Deizzy who currently holds up to four local titles, could not hold her excitement to represent her country once again. “One year and I am already making a difference by representing my country internationally. I feel honoured and I am confident to hit the stage once more. I believe in myself and I have a feeling that I can bring the title home,” says Deizzy. She adds that currently she is gratefully to the Ministry of National Youth Council for sponsoring with her returning tickets and visa.
