Paying homage to inspirational individuals who have walked the extra mile, Ohlthaver & List rewarded its star employees with an educational and entertainment trip to South Africa never to be forgotten. The Value Star Awards honours the company’s values system, Mwenyopaleka, launched in 2004, which embodies the Group’s collective commitment to challenging its historic and cultural past to improve the future for everyone. According to the company’s executive chairman Sven Thieme, a company’s corporate values often receive little priority in relation to other business components.

“It is however surprising that such values actually play an integral and crucial part in achieving your strategic objectives.”

Thieme explains that as a prominent Namibian group of companies, Ohlthaver & List continuously strives to grow its markets and provide excellent service to its clients.

“The backbone of our collective business is to constantly deliver on and exceed the expectations of our customer base and the broader public. In order to optimally achieve these goals across the spectrum of our individual companies, we have to cultivate a particular culture and attitude amongst all our employees.

“We all have to think, speak and act in the same way, which is an enormous task for a big group of companies like Ohlthaver & List. One of the mechanisms for achieving this is to instil the corporate values amongst our employees.”

According to Thieme, great people build great companies. He described the awards as a tribute to the collective achievements accomplished by individuals of the group.

The educational and entertainment trip to South Africa amounts to N$15 000 per person and includes a stay at the luxurious Monte Casino-hotel, visits to Sun City and Soweto as well as tickets to the world-renowned Lion King Broadway show now for the first time on a stage in Africa.

The winners are Broll Namibia – Jan Brand; Dimension Data – Willie Viljoen; Hangana Seafood – Fellimon Nambahu; Kraatz Marine – Andreas Iyambo; Model Pick ‘n Pay – Oscar Haihambo; Kilimanjaro – Petrus Uushona; Namibia Dairies – Isabella Brandt; Namibia Breweries – Guenther Plathe; Namib Sun Hotels – Jackson Timotheus; Ohlthaver & List Centre – Elizabeth Lind; Windhoek Schlachterei – Mesheiko Shitumbe; WUM Farming – Fransiskus Nepolo.
