Starting tomorrow, all national flags are to be flown at half-mast in honour of the late Minister of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development, John Pandeni, according to a Presidential proclamation.
The flags are to be flown at half-mast until Pandeni’s burial at Heroes Acre on Saturday. The President has also declared three days of national mourning from tomorrow to Saturday.
Pandeni will be accorded a State Funeral.
A memorial service organised by the State will be held in his honour in the Parliament Gardens on Friday.
The body of the late minister was brought back to the capital yesterday morning, after spending two days at his parents’ home at Omundjalala in the Anamulenge District, Omusati Region.
A memorial service was held at the village.
The Oshana Regional Governor, Clemens Kashuupulwa, Omusati Governor, Sackey Kayone, and several high-ranking Government officials joined Pandeni’s parents in mourning.
