Namibian traditional musician Erkki Koukulunhu has released his first kwaza-kwaza CD in a mixture of English and Oshiwambo titled ‘Ombwale’.

Koukulunhu started his music career as a vocalist four years ago with a group called Efado Musica in Katutura. In 2005 he went solo doing the club circuit in the capital and backed by local bands.

“I used to sing to sound music backing tracks, but switched to live band performances because it is a better concept that livens up my shows,” Koukulunhu said.

He is in the process of cutting another album and hoping to release it at the end of this year.

“I think there is a definite market for my kind of traditional music in the country. That is why I think my first CD should sell well,” he said of the CD is available at all music shops around the country.
