WINDHOEK
Local amateur golfers Freddie Oosthuizen and Mossi Oosthuizen teamed up in a somewhat unusual format during the Market Motors sponsored golf tourney, at the Windhoek Country Club course last weekend.
The pair netted a combined par round of 72 points at the Combined Stableford competition to tie up with two other pairs, but managed to squeeze through via the count out rule.
Ironically, the Oosthuizens are the proud owners of Market Motors and could not have chosen a more ideal platform to display their new C.A.M. Franchise vehicles.
The duo of Gustav Fransman and Jerry Thorpe had to be consoled with second place after netting the same number of points (72), with Chris de Wet and playing partner John Williams further adrift in third place (72).
Former Ramblers’ football genius Raymond Dodds showed that he has lost none of his nostalgia for the spherical ball, never mind the size of the ball despite his advanced age.
Dodds struck a telepathic partnership with Phillip Barnard for a combined net par round of 69 points, that saw the pair finishing in a commendable 4th place – leaving Namibia’s leading golfer Francois Hanekom and his playing partner William Kemp in 5th place on 69.
