Despite grappling with challenges, the health sector has made considerable progress towards the attainment of the country’s Vision 2030.

The blueprint stipulates that Namibia should be free of disease and provide preventative and curative health services to all by 2030.

Thus Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Richard Kamwi, during a one-day stakeholders consultative meeting held recently said collective efforts have resulted in the country making significant progress in its health service delivery.

He singled out the area of HIV/AIDS, where the country was among the top three in Africa to reach the three-by-five target in making anti-retroviral therapy available to at least half of those in need.
