WINDHOEK

NamPost plans to issue a miniature sheet of three postage stamps with portraits of three famous pre-historic rock paintings from Twyfelfontein to commemorate this famous UNESCO Heritage Site found in the Kunene region.

“The issuance of a miniature sheet of three stamps is a fitting tribute by NamPost to commemorate the first anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Status of Twyfelfontein also known as Ui-//aes,” stated NamPost in a media release yesterday.

The heritage stamp will roll through NamPost counters by Friday morning and they would be available at all NamPost outlets countrywide.

The price for the miniature sheet is N$6 and the stamps will sell for N$6.50, stated Berlindi Malan, NamPost’s General Manager for Marketing and Business Development, in a media release.

On June 29, 2007, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Oraganisation (UNESCO), officially declared Twyfelfontein in the Kunene region of Namibia a World Heritage Site for its pre-historic rock engravings,” stated NamPost.
