The Law Society of Namibia recently awarded two best performing students at the Justice Training Centre and a final year LLB student at the University of Namibia.

The awards were handed over at a fundraising dinner of the JP Kauraihe Trust that raised almost N$300 000 at the occasion.

Both recipients of the wards achieved the highest marks in their respective examinations last year.

Peter Johns, employed in the Office of the Attorney General, obtained 70,4% in all subjects during the 2006 Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination. Johns received N$2,500.

Dunia Zongwe, currently a student at the University of Pretoria, achieved an overall average of 80,19%. He received N$1,500 from the Kauraihe Trust.

The trust also awarded its own bursaries to students at the same event.
