WINDHOEK

Although cases of meningitis have risen from three to eight confirmed cases in the Oshikoto Region and two in the Caprivi Region, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Richard Kamwi, says there is no need for public alarm.

“It is an outbreak, but not an epidemic and the situation remains under control,” he said.

Kamwi made the reassurance that according to World Health Organisation (WHO)’s guidelines on an epidemic, there has to be 10 meningitis cases per week, per 1???_?_’???_?’???_???
