In an effort to investigate the background and whereabouts of the late Jacoba Wilma Olivier prior to her brutal death, the Namibian Police have released the only available photo of the deceased taken in the south seven years ago.

In a brief interview with New Era, Police Spokesperson Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu said the photo of the late Olivier was taken in 2000 at Mariental after she suffered an assault.

“It was a rape related case when the assault happened. But now even the family members cannot shed more light on the deceased’s life because they had not seen her for four years,” said Amulungu.

Previously, the chief inspector requested anyone who knew the late Olivier and saw her last, to come forward and provide information.

“This will greatly assist the investigators in the case to make headway in their investigation,” he said.

Amulungu said the case could only be resolved if the public cooperate with the police.

“The earlier the better, members of the public are our eyes and ears, we depend on them, all our success depends on the public, we solely rely on information provided by members of the public,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police have increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) by N$50???_?_’???_?’???_???
