WINDHOEK

Two suspects were arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning after they allegedly cut open the entrance to Hyper Woermann Brock with intent to steal.

The incident took place at around 00h45. The suspects disconnected the alarm system.

According to a police crime report, the duo tried to cut open the safe but failed.

They were arrested before they could steal anything. The suspects are in police custody awaiting court appearance.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old male allegedly hanged himself from a pole with a rope at Ongulumbashe No. 2 settlement in Katutura. The deceased was identified as Kiimba Jeremia. No foul play is suspected and the next of kin have been informed.

Still in the capital, a 27-year-old male allegedly burnt to death in his house on Sunday. He was identified as Shimbamba Johannes. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Three inquest cases and one attempted murder were also reported in the Omusati Region over the weekend where 38-year-old Amalia Elifas allegedly died shortly after giving stillbirth at Oluvango village in Ombalantu.

In the same region, 49-year-old Asino Fillemon Sillas was found dead by passers-by in a nearby bush at Okalongo Village. The deceased was identified as. The body was in a decomposed state. The cause of his death is not known but investigations continue.

At Okahao Village, a 39-year-old man was arrested at Oshikwanambwa location for allegedly stabbing a 32-year-old victim with a knife in the stomach. The victim was rushed to the Tsandi District Hospital and was later transferred to Oshakati State Hospital. Police investigation continues.

In the Hardap Region at Mariental, 27-year-old Lipinge Simon Frolius Shiinwa accidentally fell into a dam while fishing and drowned.
