WINDHOEK

A few years ago, a group of friends from the Babylon informal settlement on the outskirts of Windhoek developed a passion for playing musical instruments to pass time. Little did they know that their passion would later propel them into the music industry.

With their inspiration rooted deeply in Rastafarians, the Omidi D’Africa music group members have never looked back since then and has released a few albums and graced local stages on various occasions.

The group will be holding a concert under the name “Moonlight Reggae” tomorrow at the College of the Arts. The theme moonlight reggae, according to Faridread of the Omidi D’Afrika group, is a reminder of the times when the group used to play under the stars – literary, without lights. The show will also serve as a preview to their latest album, which is due early next year.
Steve Hanana, and Petu will be guest artists.

The show kicks off at 20h00 and entrance fee is N$30.

The group, in a fusion of vibrant vibes, highlights social issues and their impact on development.
