WINDHOEK

Last year the National Museum of Namibia celebrated a centenary of heritage conservation.

To mark this important event the museum published a chronology in which the developments of this institution since its humble beginnings during the early days of the ‘Landesmuseum’, up to present-day endeavours at the National Museum, are outlined.

Through the dedication of members of staff and the support of the Namibian people, the museum developed into a premier institution on the African continent fulfilling its role to preserve, understand and explain our national heritage for current and future generations.

The chronology, which includes many photographs, is now available at a price of N$50 from Emma /Uiras at Museum ACRE (the former ‘Emma Hoogenhout School’, opposite the Alte Feste) (tel. 276831).

It is also distributed by Namibia Book Marketing and can be purchased from local book dealers.
