WINDHOEK – Sanlam officially opened their brand-new fully-fledged office in Katutura, Windhoek, on Friday. Speaking at the opening of the new office, Sanlam Group CEO Tertius Stears said the opening of the Sanlam office in Katutura was long overdue. He added that after extensive research and consultations with their clients, they deemed it fit to open the office in Katutura.
“The opening of the Sanlam Katutura office makes sound business sense and it would be “unwise” if we fail to respond to the needs of our clients and the research we conducted,” said Stears. He further stressed that the new office in Katutura will offer the same services as all major Sanlam offices across the country and added that the opening of this office was done as part of the Client First Strategic Focus of the company, which sees the company putting their clients first in all aspects of their business.
In a statement read on his behalf, by City of Windhoek councillor Ananias Niizimba, City of Windhoek mayor Muesee Kazapua said he was happy to see Sanlam services being brought closer to the people and community of Katutura. He stressed that for far too long, businesses were opening up throughout the city with the people of Katutura often being excluded. Kazapua added that he is pleased that the long overdue Sanlam Katutura office has finally been opened. The Mayor stressed that the opening of the Sanlam Katutura office shows that the company shares a common desire with the City of Windhoek which is to develop the city and provide services to our people regardless of where they live.
Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Finance Natangwe Ithete, Andreas Penda Ithindi, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Finance said: “The opening of the Sanlam branch here today resonates well with the national development agenda for inclusive and sustainable growth, an agenda which places people at the centre of development and an agenda which recognises that only inclusive business growth is sustainable growth. Ithindi added that it was a business vision which resonates well with the Financial Sector Strategy objectives of broad-based financial inclusion and expanded access to financial products and services. “The expansion of investment by Sanlam is a noticeable progress point for a more private sector-led growth pathway, and it is taking place at the time when the domestic economy is still emerging from the prolonged recessionary pressures,” he added.
Recently Sanlam also opened new branches in in Outapi and Katima Mulilo, bringing the total number of Sanlam branches in the country to 14.
