Fresh from hosting one of the biggest boxing fights on the African continent the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing & Fitness Academy will lay on another exciting event on August 6, this time at the Windhoek Country Club.
The academy will present the much-anticipated ‘No Mercy Part-4’ boxing bonanza, which promises to deliver exciting action.
Headlining the event will be Namibia’s former WBA lightweight champion, Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses, who will take on South Africa’s Thomson Mokwena for the WBO Africa lightweight title.
The fight between the two was early this month declared a ‘No contest’ when the two boxers accidentally clashed heads, leaving many fans disappointed at Ramatex Hall on June 11.
“We will now allow the fans to see this fight, because I am in the best shape of my life right now. I will allow the fans to see the old Hitman – quick combinations, double and quick jabs and killer punches, and this time there will definitely be no excuse for Thomson unless he surrenders on the ground,” said Moses.
The main undercard will see Immanuel ‘Prince’ Naidjala take on Fadhili Majiha from Tanzania in defence of his WBO bantamweight inter-continental title. Naidjala, currently ranked number 5 by the WBO, was left disappointed when his fight against Klaas Mboyane was cancelled at the eleventh hour on June 11 due to his opponent failing a medical.
“Yes I was very disappointed because I was mentally and physically prepared, but these things happen in boxing and I am looking forward to this fight, and winning it in style,” commented Naidjala.
Currently rated number 4 by the WBO in a competitive weight division, the undefeated Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo will take on Fabian Lyimo from Tanzania in defence of his WBO Africa junior welterweight title.
“I have remained focused and collected, concentrating on correcting the mistakes because I know I am so close to fighting for the world title and cannot afford to make any mistakes now. I look forward to this fight, and will as usual give the fans best value for their money,” commented Indongo.
The undefeated Jeremiah ‘No Respect’ Nakathila will be fighting for a continental title when he steps into the ring with Jasper Seroka from SA for the vacant WBO Africa junior lightweight title.
“My opponent is obviously much more experienced than me, coming in with 31 fights versus my 10 fights, but class and tactics will prevail on the night. I am undefeated so far and will remain undefeated on the night,” boasted Nakathila.
The opening fight of the night will see Walter “Executioner” Kautondokwa for his continental title when he steps into the ring against either Walter Dlamini or Welcome Ntshingila from SA. Kautondokwa is best known for his knockouts and remains unbeaten in 11 fights.
“I am looking forward to another knockout. I am happy with the way my power has improved, and if I make the connection against my opponent on the night the fight might as well be over,” said Kautondokwa.
“We would under normal circumstances take such a big fight to Ramatex but because we just came out of a N$7 million dollar fight, finances are a challenge and we would therefore have to make do with a smaller and inexpensive venue, even though we know that most boxing fans will be deprived of watching the fight live,” said promoter Nestor Tobias.
“Seats are extremely limited at the Country Club and we therefore encourage boxing fans to secure their tickets right away because once sold out there will be nothing we can do due to space constraints,” advised Tobias.
All seats in the venue will be VIP and a single seat will sell for N$300, while VVIP tables seating 10 guests will sell for N$10 000.
