Mr Ideal Namibia search begins

Home Time Out Mr Ideal Namibia search begins

Windhoek

The search for Mister Ideal Namibia (MIN) 2016 begins tomorrow with an audition in all 14 regions of the country.

The aim of this pageant is to find a suitable candidate who will represent Namibia at the fifth edition of the Mister Africa International (MAI), to be hosted in London this October. The organisation has however come up with this initiative to select 14 young men from all 14 regions in Namibia, to come together and represent the essence and culture of the country and to compete for the main title of MIN on July 29 in Windhoek. MIN is a new male pageant that aims to crown the most elegant Namibian businessperson, a young man who will become the ambassador of tourism, entrepreneurship, heath, education and fitness in Namibia.

What is also being described as the entrepreneurial pageant is a brainchild of the RBK Investment Company by Namibian ex-model and models manager, Bobby Kaanjosa, in association with the House of Twitch (HoT), the producers of Mister Ideal Nigeria and Mister Africa International, based in Nigeria.  “Funds to kick start their ideal business venture, a modeling contract, a spread in the Twitch Magazine base in Nigeria and many more prizes,” Kaanjosa explains what is at stake.

Those taking part in the auditions should be between the age of 18-28, at least 1.70 metres tall or above, good physiques and great communication skills.

The first audition will kick off this Saturday in Windhoek at the College of the Arts (COTA)’s Main Campus, followed by Okahandja on Sunday at Spur; Otjiwarongo on Tuesday at the Pareses High School; Tsumeb next Saturday; Ongwediva at Koko Lounge next Sunday; Outapi on June 14 at Outapi Youth Centre and in Eenhana on June 17 at Omunangheshefa Pub. All auditions starts at seven O’clock in the morning, to six O’clock in the evening at all venues.  All forms costs N$ 40.

“For the regions not mentioned we already have [a] representative, this happened as pageant organisations in those regions bought rights to send representatives,” says Kanjoosa.
