Becky Rebecca Kapitire Ndjoze-Ojo was born on March 18, 1956.
Legislative Profile : She was elected as a member of the sixth National Assembly to serve from 2015 to 2020, and was subsequently appointed Higher Education, Training and Innovation Deputy Minister last year. She was also a National Assembly member for five years from 2005 to 2013 and then also served as deputy education minister.
Education : She is holder of a PhD: Doctor of Philosophy (English), Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria (1986-1996); Masters of Arts: Applied Linguistics (with TEFL), University of Durham, United Kingdom (1984-1985); Masters of Arts: Public Policy and Administration (Award for the Best Research Paper), Institute for Social Studies (ISS), The Hague (2000-2001); Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Education (Honors), University of Ulster of Jordan Town, United Kingdom (1980-1984); Diploma in Distance Education, Institute of Education, University of London(1996-1998); Primary and Higher Teachers Certificate(PTC Higher) / Junior Secondary Certificate, Augustinieum Training College Form III (Standard 8)(1973-1977); Matriculation Certificate; Standard 6 Continuation Certificate, Good Hope School (1967-1972); Lower Primary Education, The Rhenish Mission School (1965-1966).
Career: She was the first black female principal of the prestigious St Paul’s College in Windhoek (2013); she was a member of the Namibia Institute for Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) Council (2010); she was Director Language Centre, and Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor, University of Namibia (2000- 2005). She served as Vice Chairperson of the Audit Committee University of Namibia (2003- 2005); Alternating Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor: Academic Affairs and Research (2002- 2005); Chairperson of the Affirmative Action University of Namibia (2000 – 2001); Deputy Director Language Centre, University of Namibia (1998 – 2000); Member of the University Senate, Academic Planning Committee (APC), Dean’s Committee (DC), University of Namibia (1998 – 2005); Lecturer (English) for the Centre for External Studies, (CES), Materials Developer particularly for the Bachelor of Education (English) Programme at Distance Level, University of Namibia (1996–1998); Lecturer (English), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Nigeria (1986 -1996); Teacher of English at various schools in Windhoek (Class Teacher at Theo Katjimune Primary School), English Teacher at St Barnabas Higher Primary School, English Teacher at Bethold Himumuine Primary School, English Teacher at David Bezuidenhout High School) (1978 – 1984).
