Windhoek

The Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST) is hosting its first ever student fashion show at the NUST engineering building tonight.

The fashion show is an initiative by the NUST Student Brand Ambassadors, to raise funds for its community engagement activities. One of the organisers, Roger Kangootui, says the fashion show also aims at promoting the new brands as well as showcasing rare unknown talents of students.  The theme for the show is Green and Innovative. Five young designers and one jeweler from the university will be showcasing their designs with bright colours and other accessories under one roof.

The designs on show are based on recycled materials with a glimpse of glamour.  Up to 25 models, both male and female from NUST will be on the catwalk.

“We are aiming at making it an annual event, thus we have also partnered with the biggest pioneers in the fashion field, the likes of Nicole Conradie, Ruberto Scholtz, Mellisa Poulton, Ingo Shanyenge and The Fashion Council of Namibia to ensure that we deliver nothing but the best, thus guests should expect to be wowed,”  says Kangootui.

Tickets for the show cost N$ 150 (standard) and N$ 300 (VIPs). All tickets can be purchased from NUST at campus.
