Home Sports Tigers out to sustain perfect league run … while BA face Pirates on Sunday

Windhoek

After a short hiatus, it’s back to serious business again this weekend in the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) as log leaders Tigers aim to continue with their perfect run when they take on Tura Magic tomorrow at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the capital.

Comfortably topping the league log standing with 57 points, Tigers will this weekend be expected to be in the best of form if they are to successfully negotiate their way past an equally determined Tura Magic side tomorrow and Unam Football Club on Sunday.

Should Tigers manage to collect maximum points in both encounters, and Black Africa – which is in second place on 48 points – drop points this weekend, coach Brian Isaacs’ charges will mathematically be in touching distance of the league trophy.

In another big showdown, third-placed Orlando Pirates will confront serious league title contenders Black Africa at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday, in a vital clash that could go a long way in redefining both teams chances of finishing within the top three come end of the season.

Pirates currently sit third on the log with 39 points, trailing Black Africa by nine points – meaning any slight mistake from Pirates could slowly but surely see them drifting away from the heated league title dog fight at the top.
