The DTS Sports Club and Ramblers FC have emerged the most successful clubs at this year’s KIA Youth Soccer Tournament, which took place on DTS premises in the capital on Saturday.

The pair each took two overall wins, with DTS keeping an upper hand in the U9 und U11
division while Ramblers clinched top sport in the age categories U7 and U13. Swallows FC was another stand-out club, with all their teams making the second place in their respective
age divisions.

KIA Motors Namibia was once again the main sponsor, dishing out N$5 000 for the
tournament. The one-day long event, played in windy conditions, saw seven different clubs battling it out in the four different age categories.

SKW, Otjiwarongo FC, Swakopmund FC, Ramblers FC and Swallows FC participated in all age categories while Otjomuise and Mario’s Academy only competed in the U/13 division, which was carried out in the multi-purpose sports hall along the soccer field DTS coach.

Wieland Klinger had already expected his U/9’s and U/11’s boys to at least make the semi-final. “I’m very happy with the achievements, especially as I expected them to do well. We now have a good platform going into the next year.

With the amount of talent at the club, we have huge potential”, said Klinger after the last tournament of the season.
True to DTS tradition, all teams, irrelevant of their final standing, received a medal as a
token of appreciation for their efforts.
