With breast and cervical cancer being two of the leading causes of death among Namibian women, the Hats and Roses campaign of the Cancer Association of Namibia will in October bring together women to strengthen ties in the fight against these cancers.

“Through awareness, education and a willingness to mobilise we can help prevent cancer, advocate early diagnosis and establish better survival rates,” said the CEO of the Cancer Association, Rolf Hansen, last week Thursday at the announcement of the tenth Hats and Roses brunch, scheduled for October 3.

“It’s my sincere hope that through this project we will hold hands and strengthen ties in the combined fight against breast and cervical cancer in Namibia,” Hansen said.

The Hats and Roses brunch started ten years ago as a small and intimate garden tea and sparkling wine get-together by a group of women, who wanted to make a difference in the fight against breast and cervical cancer, Hansen said.
Tickets to attend the event cost N$350 per woman and N$3 500 per table.
