Windhoek

The search has begun for the hosting of next year’s annual Under-20 Youth Football tourney, the Namibian Newspaper Cup. Potential host regions have submitted their bids and the successful candidates will be known by the end of next month. The process will allow the Namibia Football Association (NFA) ample time to put all the
logistics in place.

The bidding process opened on August 24 and the NFA executive committee will scrutinise all applications from
would-be hosts, with the main criteria being a written assurance from the regional governor or town council committing themselves to staging the competition.

Bid documents should demonstrate the applicant’s ability to render all NFA members the necessary support during the competition; ensure they observe the NFA statutes and regulations; and that any commitment which is formally entered into by the concerned region will also have the approval of its regional governor’s or mayor’s office.

The application must reach the NFA secretariat by September 14 and must be accompanied by a full dossier on accommodation, training and the agreement from the governor’s office.
