A 68-year-old farmer in the Usakos district was tied up and robbed on Saturday evening.
According to the police in Erongo Region the farmer of Usakos West Farm about 10 kilometres from the town was allegedly robbed of an Amarok single cab bakkie, which was later found in a riverbed at the town.

The farmer was hospitalised and treated for shock and some injuries.
Deputy Police Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa yesterday told New Era during the weekend crime briefing that the elderly farmer and his worker were allegedly robbed at gunpoint by two unknown men at about 18h00 on Saturday.

“The farm worker managed to untie himself and went to the Usakos police station to report the incident. Investigators were sent to the farm and found the old man tied up with electrical cables,” said the deputy commissioner.

“At this stage we are not sure what else has been stolen from the farm since the owner who can give more information on the incident is traumatised and currently being treated for shock,” Kashuupulwa said.
The suspects were still at large while police investigations continued.
