Increase in road user charges

Home Farmers Forum Increase in road user charges

The Road Fund Administration has announced an increase of about 10% as from May 1 on the the following:
Motor vehicle licence and registration fees

Cross-border charges or entry fees (payable by all foreign registered vehicles)
Mass Distance Charges or Travelling Distance Charges (payable by all Namibian registered and foreign registered vehicles with a carrying capacity of more than 3 500kg)
Abnormal Load fees

Fuel levies payable by all vehicles, has already been increased as from April 1, 2015 with 10 cent per liter petrol and 10 cent per liter diesel

Funds of the Road Fund Administration are used to develop and maintain national and urban road networks as well as for traffic information, law enforcement, adjudication and safety and road research.
