WINDHOEK – A woman accused of hiring men to kill her husband made a first appearance in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday with five co-accused.

Annastancia Lubinda and David Matali, Dave Kondjera, Abuid Uazeua, Donald Hindjou and Dollam Dollam Tjitjahuma appeared on a charge of murder.

Uazeua and Tjitjahuma also faced a separate charge of possessing cannabis after they were allegedly found with the prohibited substance at the time of their arrest .The accused were informed their matter was postponed to July 30 for further investigations and bail was denied.

Magistrate Johannes Shuuveni informed the accused they had the right to apply for bail formally.The State alleges Lubinda hired her co-accused to kill her husband, 36-year-old Peter Muleke, who was a municipal worker at the time of his demise.

Deputy Commissioner Sylvanus Nghishidimbwa was quoted as having said the body of the deceased was found a few metres from his abandoned car at Goreangab Dam on Tuesday after it was reported to the police.

Lubinda and three of her co-accused were arrested the following day and Nghishidimbwa previously said strong evidence exists that Lubinda was involved in the murder.

Lubinda was quite open about her plan to have her husband killed and offered N$100 000 to anyone willing to kill him.
