Close the doors that are meant to be closed!

Home Youth Corner Close the doors that are meant to be closed!

In our day to day experiences we are faced with dilemma and challenges regarding many things; our relationships, our careers, our places of residence. Some times we have choices to make that are easier than others. And other times we are supposed to make a big life decision that scare us. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being terrified about making a decision because at the end of the day it is going to cause some changes in your life and in the people around your lives.  Some of the hardest times is closing a chapter and moving on. By closing a chapter I mean ending a situation or a relationship for good. If you are in a relationship (romantic relationship or platonic) where you are suffering emotionally and you end it, you are supposed to end it once and for all. It will be hard and tempting to go back to it for some reason but you should constantly remind yourself why you ended this relationship. It is because you were blessed enough to realise that you deserve better and you made it out alive, so why go back?

There are days were you will miss your ex partner or former friends, but are they worth going back to? It is not just our relationships. Sometimes we pick career paths or jobs and a few years down the line, it is just the most stressful experience. If you feel like the path is not for you, it is likely that you are right. There is nothing wrong with starting over at any point in life. Remember that you are given one time to live and you have to do it knowing that is your only and your last one. You do not want to be stressed all the time when there is something you can do about it. And remember that there is always something you can do about it, the choice is yours and whether you are bold enough to do it. Stress and depression kills, you do know it and you do not want to go there.
When you are done with that chapter, move on and try other new things. Feel free to do anything but not what was killing you in the first place. The point I am making here is, some doors in life are meant to be closed and to be kept closed for one to prosper. Be brave enough to shut all the negativity out. It can be people, situations, or attitudes within yourself.  People are not always the problem. Sometimes our attitudes and outlooks are the one bringing all the negativity and sadness. Start looking at things from the brighter side, wishing for good things, and doing good things. Positive and negative cannot co-exist in one body, so you have to make a choice and pick one. It starts with you and it ends with you.
