In a dazzling display of proficiency, defending champions African Stars set the Debmarine Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) ablaze this weekend, decimating Karasburg-based outfit Young Brazilian with an emphatic 10-0 victory on Saturday.
This is the second-highest goalscoring record of any Namibian elite football match since independence, with Civics’ 11-1 victory over Friends in 2007 still the highest winning margin.
Uetuuru Kambato (three goals), Awilo Stephanus, Mbakondja Tjahikika (two goals), Youssouf Ibroihim, Maharero Ndjiraeree, Vitapi Ngaruka and Edmund Kambanda all etched their names on the score sheet for the football powerhouse from Katutura.
In other matches across the league, the Otjiwarongo-based Mighty Gunners battled to a 1-1 draw against the newly promoted Okakarara Young Warriors.
