The Brave Gladiators are in the final stages of their preparations for the upcoming Olympic qualification matches against Morocco, scheduled for today and 31 October.

Morocco will host both games, with the first taking place at the Grand Stadium in Marrakesh today and the second at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday next week.

Head coach of the Gladiators, Paulus Shipanga, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s competitive camp in Marrakesh, which spanned three productive days. He praised the players for their unwavering dedication throughout the preparation period.

“We had a taste of the qualifiers in South Africa and have been thoroughly working on our attacking and defending strategies, which has yielded positive results. Additionally, our participation in Cosafa provided valuable insights into areas that require improvement,” Shipanga explained.

He also acknowledged the challenge posed by the weather, mentioning that training sessions had to be cancelled due to rain. The team is taking precautions to ensure the players remain in good health, especially as the matches are scheduled to be held at night, a departure from their usual playing time.

Shipanga underlined that the team is in high spirits, exceptionally motivated, and eagerly anticipates the upcoming matches. The Gladiators are fully prepared and ready to give their best performance on the field, he said.
