An alleged love triangle left a 32-year-old man dead and a young woman in hospital after they were stabbed by a man who was also in a relationship with the same woman.
The incident took place on Tuesday night at Okaanga village in the Omusati region. The deceased was identified as Malakia Amadhila Shiimi from Okaanga in the Onesi constituency.
According to the crime investigations coordinator for Omusati, Moses Simaho, the suspect lives in a different village, but walked from his home to Okaanga, where his girlfriend and her new lover were residing.
He allegedly found both the woman and her new lover in the woman’s bedroom, and that is where the attack took place.
Simaho said the suspect stabbed the new boyfriend with a knife three times – once on his right arm, on the chest and on the stomach.
The two victims were first taken to the Onesi health centre. Shiimi was later transferred to the Tsandi district hospital, where he died.
The woman is still in hospital, and in a stable condition. The suspect and the woman allegedly have two children together. No arrest has been made yet as the suspect fled after committing the crimes.
The police have appealed to the public to report any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. –
