ONDANGWA – If elected into office, Body of Christ Party (BCP) leader Festus Thomas promises to eliminate corruption in the country.
The BCP will go a step further to ensure that everyone benefits from the resources, he vowed.
“We will implement laws and strong measures to ensure transparency and accountability at all levels of government,” Thomas said.
He made these remarks during party’s manifesto launch at Ondangwa on Saturday.
The BCP was established in 2015.
Thomas said his party will address historical injustices, ensuring equitable access to land for all Namibians.
Thomas has announced and nominated 63 of their candidates for the National Assembly, whom he said were selected through a transparent and rigorous process representing the values and principles of the party.
He called all BCP members and Christians alike to support their candidates in the upcoming election, so that they can build a Namibia free from corruption, inequality and injustices.
He outlined the party’s pillar as a guide for the party’s actions and decisions to lead Namibia to prosperity and a bright future if voted into power.
“BCP is determined to promote peace and stability, as Christians have allegedly been without a voice and are denied land while their churches are demolished and closed down,” he stressed.
He said their manifesto is designed to address key issues among them economic growth, education, healthcare, security, agriculture, and land reform.
“BCP is demanding Bible studies be reintroduced in the education curriculum,” the religious leader said.
On security matters, the BCP promises to strengthen law enforcement to protect citizens from crime, while on agriculture, the party promises to come up with innovative ideas to secure sufficient food production for all Namibians.
“Let us not be swayed by empty promises, or distracted by the noise of political rhetoric. Let us focus on what truly matters-the well-being of our people and the future of our children. With God’s guidance and your support, we will build a Namibia that we can all be proud of,” he added. –fhamalwa@nepc.com.na
