The Simply You Magazine Awards (SYMLAFA) are poised for a grand return tomorrow at the National Theatre of Namibia, themed ‘2080 circa futuristic fashion’.
This innovative theme seeks to provide an insight into the future of fashion, blending modern styles with avant-garde elements. The sixth iteration of this event promises to be more remarkable than ever before.
As preparations are in full swing, Helena Ngaifiwa, co-founder of Simply You Magazine, announced that the awards’ ceremony will be recorded and broadcast on Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), thereby extending the event’s allure to a broader audience.
The success of this occasion is significantly bolstered by the contributions of its sponsors, which include MTC, NBC, Focus FM, TST marketing agency, MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, Hannah Nangula Cosmetics, KOVA, Henry Shimutwikeni, Kasivibe and Life Day Spa. These collaborations, she said, reflect a shared dedication to inspire, celebrate and advance the creative industry in Namibia.
“This year, SYMLAFA has introduced two new categories, Influencer and Content-Creator of the Year. The fresh lineup of acts taking to the SYM stage is sure to keep attendees entertained. The organisers are committed to creating an unforgettable experience for all,” she said.
She mentioned that this year features new personalities on the red carpet as presenters and on the main stage. There is great anticipation regarding their contributions. The performance lineup is thrilling, and attendees can look forward to an evening dedicated to celebrating their favourites.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support from all our sponsors. Their partnership elevates the awards to new heights, and allows us to continue creating a platform where Namibian creatives get to see and know that their efforts are seen, recognised and acknowledged,” she said.
She remarked that, throughout the years, the awards have functioned as a platform for highlighting creativity, promoting collaboration and serving as a catalyst for inspiring young Namibians.
Ngaifiwa said, the continuous support from sponsors is crucial in facilitating the awards’ enduring impact. Additionally, the awards have spotlighted emerging creatives, enhancing their visibility and advancing their careers.
“The sponsorship collaborations established over the years have also fostered industry cooperation by uniting key sponsors, ensuring that their influence within the creative sector remains significant while simultaneously encouraging innovation, as the awards have evolved into a symbol of creative excellence and innovation that shapes the industry’s future,” noted Ngaifiwa.
