Over N$1 million stolen from pensioner’s account 

OSHAKATI – The police in the Omusati region are investigating a case of fraud after an unknown individual allegedly stole N$1.1 million from a 60-year-old woman’s bank account last week. 

The Namibian Police Force’s regional commander for Omusati, commissioner Ismael Basson, said the incident occurred at an unknown time between Wednesday and Friday. The money was stolen from a bank account at First National Bank (FNB) in Outapi. 

Basson said the suspect reportedly used an unknown method to gain access to the victim’s account, and transferred the money to various other FNB accounts. 

None of the stolen funds have been recovered. Police investigations continue.-Nampa
