Oshikoto governor pays tribute to Nujoma

Oshikoto governor Penda Ya Ndakolo says Founding President Sam Nujoma was a brave man who fought for independence and brought development to Namibia.
Nujoma died in Windhoek on Saturday at the age of 95.
“We must really appreciate his work.

He liberated the country and worked tirelessly for this country during and after the liberation struggle. He brought development to Namibia,” he said.
Namibians now have water, electricity, health facilities and roads which they did not have during the liberation struggle, he added. Ya Ndakolo said there are not enough words to describe the work done by Nujoma.
“We truly lost a hero for this country, I am aware of his heroism as I was under his leadership during the liberation struggle… He used to guide us during the struggle, saying no one who is going to liberate this country if not us,” the governor said.

Ya Ndakolo further stated that Nujoma led the country from 1990 to 2005 with hard work and determination, and advised Namibians to work hard in developing the country so that they can further the founding father’s plans. “I want to extend my condolences to the bereaved family, the people of the Oshikoto region, the Namibian nation at large, as well as friends who were with us during the liberation struggle,” Ya Ndakolo said.
